Last week Dwayne Brown introduced us to new member Stephen Alloy. Stephen has 40 years’ experience in the legal and insurance industries. Steve practiced law in Chicago for 20 years, focusing in the areas of estate planning, business succession and real estate. In 2000 he combined his law practice with an insurance and financial services practice and for several years conducted public seminars on estate and financial planning. Bringing his legal background into the insurance industry, he carved out an expertise in advanced markets. After time as a sales manager for a national company and as director of advanced markets for an independent agency, Steve came to Mutual of Omaha in 2008 as an Advanced Markets Specialist. He has taught many continuing education courses for agents as well as advanced concept, product and sales training.
Steve has earned the following academic credentials: B.A. in English/ Creative Writing from the University of Iowa in 1978; J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1981, MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University in 1989; Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) from The American College in 2015. Additionally, he holds the CLU and ChFC designations from The American College. He is insurance licensed (life, health and P&C) and also holds the following FINRA licenses: Series 7, Series 63, Series 65 and Series 26. Steve also serves as a member of the LIMRA Advanced Sales Committee.
Stephen is married to Theresa and they have three adult children. In his free time, he enjoys improv comedy. Welcome, Stephen!
Last week Yolanda Hoffman introduced us to new member Julie Sanford. Julie is the Development Coordinator for The Set Me Free Project. The Set Me Free Project is a non-profit that was locally founded and has been operating for 7 years. Their mission is to "Bring prevention education to youth and families to stop trafficking before it starts."
She was born and raised in Omaha, NE and three years ago moved to Bennington with her family. Julie is married to Doug Sanford and they have three daughters. Julie holds a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from UNO and her work background includes 11 years of service to the Sarpy County Sheriffs office as a Deputy Sheriff, and many years in the private security industry specializing in Security Management of schools and churches.
Julie's passions include a new-found energy toward cooking with whole foods, and revamping her family's eating habits so they can all live healthier with more energy, trying to get rid of all the weeds in her lawn (an ongoing battle), and spending time with her family and making new friends all the time!
She loves to volunteer and help out the community when time allows. Welcome, Julie!
