Dan Napoli Director of Visual Storytelling for Hurrdat
Presentation:50 Summers – a MiLB documentary featuring the Omaha Storm Chasers
50 Summers is a full-length documentary that embeds with the Omaha Storm Chasers front office staff on Opening Day of their historic 50th Season. The film provides an in-depth look back on the changing business of Minor League Baseball in America over the last half-century, talking to players, broadcasters, and front office legends who’ve dedicated their lives to the game.
See how the Omaha club has managed to survive and thrive, weathering the storm of relocation threats, new ownership, name changes, and stadium issues all while maintaining the longest parent-club affiliation in all of Triple-A baseball. 50 Summers pulls back the curtain on game day life and shows how the small, passionate front office crew juggles the needs of the team, sponsors, and (most importantly) the fans to provide one of America’s most quintessential experiences: a day at the ballpark.

Last week, Engagement Committee Chair John Philo presented perfect attendance awards to Matt McKeever, 14 years and to Dick Sturgeon, 28 years with 22k gold electroplated number 14 cloisonné for Matt. The club owes Dick Sturgeon his number 28 gold cloisonné. It appears our supplier ran out of gold. Both Matt and Dick received their nice and shiny framed certificates. Congratulations Matt and Dick!

Because Champion’s Run will be closed the first two weeks in January, Omaha West will have lunch at our adopt-a-school partner, Skinner Elementary School on Friday, January 11 at noon. We will have lunch with some of the children (please sign up for a boxed lunch by January 4) and will then be given a short tour of several of the school’s special places (e.g. library, nurse’s office, technology room, music room, gym). Please join us to meet some Skinner students and to learn more about the school Omaha West supports in many ways.
