Last week Gretchen Radler introduced us to new member Sheetal Savant. Sheetal was an Army brat and was born in Mumbai. She worked as a Journalist in India before getting married and moving to the U.S. in 2004. Sheetal is trilingual but has a basic understanding of quite a few Indian languages. She holds a Bachelor's in English Literature, with minors in Psychology and Philosophy; Master's in journalism, and a Master's in political communication. Sheetal is co-writing a script with five other writers, that they are planning on pitching to digital platforms in 2022 and is also working on a novel. Sheetal is the Owner of Masala Box. It has evolved from a catering company into teaching friends and family the nuances of Indian cooking. She frequently teaches non-credit Indian cooking classes at the Metropolitan Community College, Fort campus. She is a guild member of the Bags of Fun, an organization that was founded in the honor of six-year old Gabby who would carry a bag of fun when she was undergoing treatment for brain cancer. Sheetal has two children and is married to Ameet. Welcome, Sheetal! |
