She spent over 40 years at Mutual of Omaha in legal and compliance positions and retired as the Compliance and Ethics  Director.

Diana is married to Jim O’Connor, a retired partner from Baird Holm law firm. They have two daughters. Their eldest is married and also an attorney. She currently is an elected member of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. Their youngest daughter lives in Colorado where she is an animal-assisted therapist for children in crisis and has two golden doodles who work with her along with two therapy bunnies in training.
