Topic: Role of the King Science and Technology Magnet Middle School within the Omaha Public School system
Bio: Kristin Utterback is the Health Career Academy Coordinator at King Science and Technology Magnet Middle School in the Omaha Public Schools district. Kristin’s education began in 2003 when she earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science from Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan. She completed her Bachelors’ degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2016. In addition to five years of diverse educational experiences, Kristin brings ten years of health career experience as a surgical technologist into the classroom. She also currently works overnight on the weekends at Nebraska Medicine in the Emergency Services Department to maintain her real-world experience. Kristin has various professional and educational affiliations that enhance her teaching abilities. She is a HOSA sponsor, a certified Red Cross instructor, and has held various officer positions in the ASCD-UNO chapter. When Kristin is not in the classroom, she is spending time with her four boys and husband adventuring in the outdoors and teaching Sunday school.
