Last week Yolanda Hoffman introduced us to new member Mark Story. Mark Story is the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for those impacted by bladder cancer. In this role, he is responsible for the development and execution of communications activities that serve the bladder cancer community and promote, enhance, and protect the organization's reputation. Mark is the chief architect of the BCAN brand and outreach strategy and leads the team spearheading public relations, digital media, internal and executive communications, and marketing communications.
For more than 25 years, Mark has applied his professional communications leadership in the public and private sectors, working in a broad range of industries including non-profits, higher education, healthcare, international business, and the federal government. His specialized skills include message development, reputation management, crisis communications, executive positioning, digital communications and marketing communications.
Mark loves to give back to the next generation of communicators by serving as adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University, where, since 2016, he has taught graduate-level courses in public affairs, digital communications, persuasion, and public relations. Mark published a book in 2012, “Starting Your Career as a Social Media Manager.”
Mark earned his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park and his master’s degree from the same institution. Welcome, Mark! |
