Omaha West Rotary Club Secretary Report for June 21, 2019:

This past Friday, we had a great meeting with several guests and visitors. Larry Johansen visited from Downtown Rotary and Nizar Mamdani was in town from the Naples FL club. For guests, Mark Ellsworth brought his wife Marsha. Mark also brought Brandon Souba. And Laura Thomas invited Dominique Sierra.

For good news, Nick Rosenberry thanked everyone, especially Jill Slupe, for making his duties as secretary so enjoyable. Gretchen is going to do a fantastic job. Mark Ellsworth’s grandson is in the championship game for his little league baseball. Deb Sepich’s daughter just graduated and will be working as a MD at CHI Health. Nizar Mamdani is glad to be back in town, but not for the best reason – he is having surgery on his arm. Russ Iwan will be off to see his first grand daughter Avery Jo in Seattle. Laura Thomas wanted to thank Bonnie Gill and Mark Manhart for hosting the recent Family of Rotary event. And finally, Yolanda Hoffman announced that her medical issue is resolving itself nicely.

Nick closed with a joke and wished everyone a good week.

Last week Yolanda Hoffman gave the invocation. Kari Ketcham and Matt Molettiere served as Greeters. Bruce Cramer was Sgt. at Arms and Russ Iwan was Cashier. Jill Slupe recognized outgoing Officers, Committee Chairs, and Board members. She presented the outgoing Officers and Board members local Foundation President, Joe Finnegan, and Rotary International Foundation Chair, Bonnie Gill, with their next level of Paul Harris Fellowships in Honor of their service.
