Secretary Nick Rosenberry Report

Omaha West Rotary Club Secretary Report for May 10, 2019:

This past Friday, Tom Cardwell, our past district governor attended the meeting. We also had several guests. Jill Slupe brought Kerry Kinnegan and David Thompson. Dwayne Brown invited Nate Maniktala. Mark Ellsworth brought Sarah Ryan. And Starla Waite invited Scott Andersh.

For good news, Dan Ferris’ daughter graduated from UNL and has a job lined up. Bonnie Gill’s exchange student from the Congo is moving into an apartment and has a job with Paypal. Dick Sturgeon attended the Ronald McDonald House expansion ribbon cutting. Stan Truhlson (a former member of our club) was also there and doing well. Kari Ketcham also wanted to add that this was her 1st year anniversary with the Ronald McDonald House. Ben Kratz is part of Mustaches for Kids and has reached the (Tom) Selleck Society by raising at least $1,000. Bob Fell was also present at the meeting after 5 weeks in the hospital. Bob is doing much better and was glad that he was at the meeting without a walker. Suzan Rohrig was glad that Bob Fell was back and also wanted to let everyone know that she had the best mom in the world. Tim Neal’s son just had grandson #3. And finally, Blake Martin’s 5-year-old just graduated from kindergarten. Also, there is a correction from my last report: Deb Neary received an award during the Holland Hero’s Award Ceremony.

Nick closed with a joke and wished everyone a good week.

Last Week at Rotary
Last week Blake Martin gave the invocation.  Gail Veitzer served as Sgt. At Arms. Mark Ellsworth and Anne Fuhrman served as Cashiers and Brett Wawers and Mike Morey were Greeters.   Nuzhat Mahmood introduced Samuel Bertino from the Kaneko who talked about upcoming works and the history of the Keneko.  The Bucks for Bingel pot was at $197 and Starla Waite won $98.50.
