Welcome Scott Shelbourn! 
Last week Lindsey VandeHoef introduced us to new member Scott Shelbourn. An Omaha native, Scott is a graduate of Bryan High School and attended UNO. He served six years in the Nebraska National Guard. He holds a Bachelor’s from Olivette Nazarene University and a Master's Degree from Trevecca University.
Scott has been married 31 years to his wife, Jolinda, he has four children who are all married, and he has ten Grandkids.
He Worked in the Bio-Medical Field until He felt called by God to be a Salvation Army Officer.He has been an Officer in The Salvation Army for 25 years, serving in Chicago, Peoria, & and Bloomington IL, The Quad Cities (Davenport, IA), The Twin Cities (Minneapolis MN) and He is currently the Western Division’s Divisional Commander in Omaha, overseeing operations in Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa.
Scott was a Rotarian in Roseville, MN, and is very pleased to be able to transfer his membership to Omaha. Welcome, Scott!
Volunteer Opportunities
We have lots of ways for you to make a difference in the next couple of months.  
Career Day: On Tuesday, November 14th, Omaha West Rotary will host a Career Day for about 100 4th and 5th Grade students at Skinner Magnet School.    Rotarians and others representing different professions will discuss their careers with the students from 1-3:30. 
We need volunteers to represent their careers.   Please send your contact information to Denny Duer at 402-670-3378.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing- Saturday, November 25th from 11am- 4pm at Baker's at 132nd and Maple CLICK HERE to sign up. 
Salvation Army Winter Night Watch- meet at headquarters by 5:30 (10755 Burt St) Various dates available beginning on 11/27. CLICK HERE to sign up.  Warm clothing donations are being accepted by Bel-Air clothing
About Winter Night Watch: For a couple of hours, come and help the Salvation Army at 10755 Burt Street feed and clothe some of our community's most vulnerable population. Two of you will be in the back of a Salvation Army truck beginning at 5:30, fully equipped with hot food and much need clothing items to serve the least amongst us. You should be back at Salvation Army and in your car by 8 p.m. Please help Omaha West make the most difference with your service and time in our community.

The next Happy Hour will be at the Granary in Ralston on November 9th from 4:30-7 p.m. Mark your calendar!

About Us
Dick Sturgeon's wife, Jeanie, moved back to Madonna on Monday of last week and seems to have stabilized, she is doing her third day of therapy’s today, which is huge milestone. She overall has made some great progress in spite of some setbacks. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
