Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member
When you give $100 or more per year to the Annual Fund.
Benefactor
When you include the Endowment Fund as a beneficiary in your estate plans or when you donate $1,000 or more to the fund outright. Benefactors receive a certificate and insignia to wear with a Rotary or Paul Harris Fellow pin.
Paul Harris Fellow
When you give $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant. To recognize someone else as a Paul Harris Fellow, you can give that amount in their name.
Multiple Harris Fellow
When you give additional gifts of $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant.
Paul Harris Society Member
When you give $1,000 or more annually to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant.
Bequest Society Member
When you give $10,000 or more via your estate plans. Bequest Society members are recognized with an engraved crystal recognition piece and a Bequest Society pin. Recognition items commemorate giving at these levels:
Level 1: $10,000 to $24,999
Level 2: $25,000 to $49,999
Level 3: $50,000 to $99,999
Level 4: $100,000 to $249,999
Level 5: $250,000 to $499,999
Level 6: $500,000 to $999,999

Major Donor
When your cumulative donations reach $10,000. Major Donors can choose to receive a crystal recognition piece and a Major Donor lapel pin or pendant. Recognition items commemorate giving at these levels:
Level 1: $10,000 to $24,999
Level 2: $25,000 to $49,999
Level 3: $50,000 to $99,999
Level 4: $100,000 to $249,999
Part of your contributions to The Rotary Foundation are made available for District use. The Rotary Foundation contributions are held and invested for a three-year period before they are available to support RI projects and programs. The income received on the contributions offset the Foundation administrative expenses. Following the three year period one-half of the contributions received from the District are available to District 5650 clubs applying for grants.
District Grants can be used for the following:
Humanitarian projects, including service travel and disaster recovery efforts
Scholarships for any level, length of time, location, or area of study
Vocational training teams, which are groups of professionals who travel abroad either to teach local professionals about a particular field or to learn more about their own

Omaha West Rotary and Omaha Downtown Rotary are working together on a Joint District Grant - 'Victory Over Violence'. The grant funds will be used to create an information center (website and landing pages) for people who need to know more about sexual and domestic abuse in the greater Omaha area. Last year the WCA delivered over 22,000 services related to domestic abuse.
A launch party is planned to celebrate the 'Victory Over Violence' and to unveil eight new landing pages for the WCA. The pages will impact thousands of individuals searching for information about physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Click here for information about the launch party event.

POLIO ERADICATION – We are asking you to donate $32 during the month your birthday is recognized. The District has set $32 per person as a giving goal for PolioPlus. Your donation will be given to The Rotary Foundation in your name for PolioPlus. Rotary has led the private sector in the global effort to rid the world of polio for over 30 years. The PolioPlus program helps Rotary fund operational costs, such as transportation, vaccine delivery, social mobilization, and training of health workers, and support surveillance activities. Your donation can help "End Polio Now."
A group of West Rotary Club members met with trained District Team to work through a Visioning process for the club in 2021. Below is a summary of the outcome of 2021 Visioning for the Omaha West Rotary Club.
We are a club offering Fellowship and Fun for 150 “Actively Involve” members. We are a welcoming club providing thorough and on-going new member orientation. We are known for our outstanding programs and service projects that are creating positive media coverage several times a year. The club members have opportunities to network with fellow members with high impact meetings even social events at our member’s businesses. Our club provides timely communications to our members utilizing many forms of communications, no matter if you want email, social networks or smoke signals…you are included.
We recognize we must spread the message of Rotary and create long term relationships by supporting the international exchange of students and embracing RYLA.
Our club fully leverages the opportunity for funding from District and International grants by having 1-2 large impact annual projects involving partners when appropriate. We realize we need funding for this good work that we do and we have inclusive fundraising events such as a mega tasting event with beer, wine, and whiskey. Our club has a priority to our community by supporting local issues. We also assure we can have a worthwhile impact with the donations to the Rotary International Foundation and are proud that every member donates every year with an understanding that 50% of that comes back to our district through grants. We fully communicate the good work we are doing with meetings focused on our projects with full disclosure of our funds and activities.
Gretchen Radler, Vocational Service Committee Chair, will be contacting members to schedule a vocational talk. We would like to schedule two vocational talks each month. Your talk should be 2-3 minutes in length and will give you an opportunity to share information about your profession, yourself and your family. Please say yes when asked to schedule your vocational talk. We look forward to learning more about our fellow Rotarians.
The West Rotary Board approved a Corporate & Family Membership program. An Active Primary club member can propose a qualified family member or a qualified business co-worker for membership. The membership proposal has information in regard to membership qualifications on the form. The new corporate or family member joining will pay dues of $125 with no admission fee. If the primary member resigns one of the corporate or family members will become the primary member and pay the appropriate primary membership fee. The reduced dues rate of $125.00 will be effective the first three years of membership. Click here to see the membership proposal form and flyer for the new program.
