Lindsey Vande Hoef is currently working in non-profit at the American Heart Association as a Development Director. Lindsey just recently started working with AHA in March 2022 after “retiring” from coaching collegiate women’s basketball for nearly 20 years. Lindsey is married to Chris Vande Hoef and they have two children: William (9) and Evelynn (2). Lindsey has spent the last seven years coaching at Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs) which brought her family back to the Greater Omaha area after a short 4-year coaching stint in her home state at Lakeland University in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Lindsey and Chris spent 2007-2011 in Council Bluffs when they were first married and just starting their careers. The couple met while studying at University of Sioux Falls (South Dakota) and Lindsey was completing her Master’s in Business Administration within the Vucurevich School of Business. She was a graduate assistant coach for the women’s basketball program at USF while completing her degree. Lindsey fell in love with the game of basketball while playing for her dad and watching him coach in her younger years. She attended Carroll University, a small private college just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lindsey studied Exercise Science, Business and Coaching and decided after graduation in 2003 to pursue a career in athletics. Lindsey loves the idea of teamwork and has always had a strong passion for motivating people to reach their full potential and pursue their dreams. Lindsey is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking and is always willing to lend a helping hand. With her servant heart, she has dedicated herself and her teams to find opportunities to get involved and give back to their communities. Whether it is community clean-up, working with Special Olympics or volunteering with the local food pantry, she has always been eager to make a positive impact and hopes to make a difference in people’s lives. It is evident to Lindsey that this mind-set has been something that has been engrained in her since a very young age. Lindsey’s father, Bill Niemuth, joined Rotary in 1985 when Lindsey was just 5 years-old. He was a member until he retired and relocated closer to Madison area in 2015. Bill served two terms as club president and served earlier terms as secretary and treasurer for the Horicon Rotary Club in Wisconsin. Lindsey likes to spend her free time being active with her kids or playing cards with her family and friends. Lindsey loves to travel and has visited many places including Dubai, China, Denmark, Sweden, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. One of her bucket list items, is to visit all of her former players in their home country. Lindsey is also a current member of Omaha Leaders and AFP-Nebraska. Welcome, Lindsey! |
