The Rotary Club of Omaha West's board of directors and our RI Foundation committee have set the following goals for 2017-2018:
100% participation from all members of Rotary Club of Omaha West
Raise $10,600 for the Rotary International Foundation Annual Programs Fund
Raise $3,392 to help Rotary wipe out polio (PolioPlus Fund)
The easiest way to give is to visit the Rotary website at myrotary.org and create an account to give online. A donation of $100 makes you a Sustaining Member for Rotary Year 17-18 and cumulative donations of $1000 make you a Paul Harris Fellow.
The money raised for the International Foundation goes to fund projects around the world as well as in our District. Last year our club in conjunction with Downtown Rotary, received a matching grant for the Women's Center for Advancement to optimize a website for domestic and sexual abuse. This year our club anticipates a pending grant totaling $35,000 to help First Sight distribute eye glasses in India. First Sight is a non-profit started by our own member Nizar Mamdani to help children in third-world countries see the blackboards in school. After successful work in Africa extending to children as well as adults, First Sight will soon have the funds to work with a team in India.
