Jim Sutfin, Millard Public Schools Superintendent

Dr. Jim Sutfin, a longtime Millard district administrator, was selected as Millard Public Schools Superintendent in April, 2014.  Millard is Nebraska's third largest school district, and Sutfin is the fourth superintendent in the last 61 years.  He began his career in education in 1989 as a science teacher, student council sponsor and assistant coach in football and track with Bellevue Public Schools.  In 1994 - 1995, he was honored as the Bellevue East Rotary Teacher of the year and Phi Delta Kappa Showcase Teacher.  Dr. Sutfin moved to Millard West High School in 1995 as an AP Biology teacher and continued to serve as student council sponsor and assistant track coach.  Dr. Sutfin went on to become science department head, then moved to Russell Middle School as Assistant Principal, and to five years Millard's Central Middle School as Principal.  After earning the Region II Principal of the Year Award in 2006, Dr. Sutfin went on to serve as Director, Executive Director and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in Millard Public Schools where he oversaw all aspects of Human Resources, District Activity, Staff Development and Student Services programs.  

Dr. Sutfin earned his doctorate in educational administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2002.  He is married to Julie Sutfin, also a career educator.  They have two children and make their home in Southwest Omaha.
